Automatic Strand Deadend

Automatic Guy Wire Deadend / Strand Vise for Steel Strand Termination
FASTLINK Automatic Strand Deadend provides push-in termination for compatible steel strands at pole-top and anchor-eye connections. This Guy Wire Deadend serves Strand Vise applications in telecommunications and electrical utility networks and is rated to hold at least 90% of the strand’s rated breaking strength. For joining two strand ends in line, select our Automatic Strand Splice, the Guy Wire Splice / Strand Link option.
  • Automatic Push-In Termination: Our demonstration shows a straightened, brush-cleaned strand being pushed into the deadend.
  • Minimum 90% RBS Holding Strength: Rated to hold at least 90% of the strand’s rated breaking strength when correctly matched and installed.
  • Pole-Top and Anchor-Eye Applications: Designed for terminating compatible guy and support strands in utility networks.
  • Bail Connection: The illustrated assembly incorporates a gripping cartridge, yoke, and bail for termination.
  • Multiple Configurations: Our range includes standard, extended-length “L,” and EHS-designated models with specified wire diameter ranges.
  • Grade-Specific Selection: All Grades and Universal Grade options have different compatibility requirements; selection depends on strand construction, grade, coating, and diameter.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I choose a Guy Wire Deadend instead of a Guy Wire Splice?

Choose our Guy Wire Deadend when a strand must terminate at a pole-top or anchor-eye connection. Choose our Guy Wire Splice when you need to join two strand ends in line. The installation video demonstrates these two distinct uses.
They serve different connection needs. For Strand Vise applications, our Automatic Strand Deadend provides strand termination through a bail-equipped assembly. For Strand Link applications, our Automatic Strand Splice connects two strands through opposite ends of an inline connector.
In our demonstration, we straighten the strand end and clean it with a brush before gently pushing it into the deadend. Follow the installation requirements for the selected model. The insertion-mark check shown later in the video specifically demonstrates the splice connection.
No. Our published guidance distinguishes All Grades from Universal Grade models. The All Grades version covers specified seven-wire strands and solid wires, but excludes three-wire strand and Alumoweld. Universal Grade options list Alumoweld, aluminized, EHS, and galvanized steel applications. Confirm the exact model against your strand specification before ordering.
Our Automatic Strand Deadend is rated to hold at least 90% of the compatible strand’s rated breaking strength—not 90% of an arbitrary working load. The rating depends on selecting the correct deadend for the strand and following the applicable installation instructions.
